Postfolk is a social app for sending letters between friends. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards describe how we prevent, detect, report, and respond to CSAE and CSAM on Postfolk.
Our commitment
Postfolk is committed to keeping children safe. We prohibit any use of Postfolk to sexually exploit, abuse, endanger, or groom children. We design safety tools into the product, review reports of harmful behavior, and act when we obtain actual knowledge of CSAE or CSAM.
Prohibited conduct
The following is strictly prohibited on Postfolk:
- Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including grooming a child for sexual exploitation, sextortion, trafficking a child for sex, or any other sexual exploitation of a child.
- Creating, uploading, sharing, soliciting, or distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
- Using Postfolk to contact, coerce, manipulate, or endanger minors in any sexual or exploitative way.
- Impersonating a child, or misrepresenting your age to interact with minors.
- Any other conduct that endangers children or violates applicable child safety laws.
These standards apply in addition to our Terms and Conditions. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension or termination, and reports to law enforcement or child protection authorities.
CSAM
CSAM is illegal. Postfolk does not permit CSAM in any form, including photos, videos, text descriptions, links, or computer-generated imagery depicting a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
When we obtain actual knowledge of CSAM in Postfolk, we take appropriate action in line with these standards and applicable law. That includes removing the content, restricting or terminating the accounts involved, preserving information as required for investigations, and reporting confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the relevant regional authority.
Reporting in Postfolk
Postfolk provides in-app ways for users to raise safety concerns without leaving the app:
- Report a letter. From a letter, users can submit a private report with a reason and optional note. Reports are reviewed by Postfolk.
- Block a user. Users can block other users to stop unwanted contact.
- Help and Feedback. From Profile, users can send feedback or a help request about safety concerns, abuse, or other issues inside the app.
If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. To report content elsewhere on the internet, contact the appropriate agency in your country.
Enforcement and review
When Postfolk receives a report or otherwise obtains actual knowledge of a possible violation, we may:
- Review reported letters, accounts, and related activity.
- Remove content that violates these standards or our terms.
- Restrict features, suspend, or permanently terminate accounts.
- Preserve records as needed for safety, legal, or law-enforcement purposes.
- Cooperate with Google Play, law enforcement, and child protection organizations when appropriate.
We act in accordance with these published standards, our internal procedures, and applicable law. Enforcement decisions are made to protect users and children on the platform.
Legal compliance
Postfolk complies with applicable child safety laws and regulations. Where required, we maintain a process to report confirmed CSAM to NCMEC through its CyberTipline, or to the equivalent authority in other jurisdictions.
We may also report CSAE or other illegal activity to law enforcement when we believe it is necessary to protect children or comply with legal obligations.
Age requirements
Postfolk is not intended for children under 13. Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information to Postfolk, we will take steps to delete the account and associated information as appropriate.
